San, our founder, spent nearly a decade in Big 4 consulting. Oracle. Accenture. Deloitte. He was good at it—leading transformation projects, managing teams, making $150K. But somewhere along the way, he hit a wall. The 60-hour weeks, the endless travel, the projects that didn't matter—it was all slowly killing him. The breaking point came when his mentor got fired. She'd been at Deloitte for 12 years. Excellent consultant. Great client relationships. But her billing rate had gotten too high, so they let her go. That's when San realized: loyalty is a one-way street in consulting. He tried to exit once before in 2020—and failed spectacularly. No plan, no systems, just arrogance. He burned through $70K and had to crawl back to consulting. But that failure taught him something critical: wanting to leave isn't enough. You need strategy.
